WTS thrives on its ability to help professionals through a multitude of programs designed to develop their skills, decision-making abilities, and knowledge. WTS San Diego County Chapter provides the following opportunities to its members and to the future leaders in the transportation industry:

Mentorship Program

The WTS San Diego County Mentorship Program provides students, growing and experienced professionals a program that supports them in achieving their professional goals and career growth in the transportation industry.

Professional Development

WTS San Diego County is committed to attracting, retaining, and advancing women in the transportation industry through the various professional development events including:

  • Focus Topic Programs offers industry professional and students an opportunity to learn about a specific topic from distinguished speaker(s). Previous programs included "Transportation & Affordable Housing," "The Future of Transportation: Virgin Hyperloop One," "Imposter Syndrom" and much more!
  • Thunder Talk Series offers members an opportunity to listen and/or present a topic in only a few minutes in a more informal and relax setting. Previous thunder talk presentations included graphic design, the use of big data, transportation system in other counties, and much more!
  • Lunch & Learn Series offers both public sector employees and students with opportunities to learn about best practices in the field. It also provides WTS San Diego County's Diamond and Platinum level Corporate Sponsors with opportunities to present on their areas of expertise.

Transportation YOU & Student Outreach

Transportation YOU is an outreach and mentoring program through WTS that offers school-age girls and young women an introduction to a wide variety of transportation careers through school presentations, interactive activities, and mentorship opportunities. WTS-San Diego seeks to change the face of the transportation industry by growing the involvement and interest of girls and young women in STEM studies.
