Membership 

 

How do I become a WTS member?

Welcome to WTS! WTS membership lasts 12 months, starting the first day of the month the membership begins.

Visit the WTS International website, then click Join WTS. This will lead you to create an account to help you manage your membership. Complete email verification (check your inbox), then log in. Click "Join WTS" on the left-hand menu and complete the application. Select your preferred membership level and local chapter in the application.

How do I renew my membership?

Renew your annual WTS membership by logging into your MyWTS account. If you need help logging in, be sure to double check your username (in your original confirmation email) and password. You can reset your password and get a new copy of your username by clicking 'Forgot Password.'

 

Which membership level should I choose?

Visit the WTS International website to learn which of the Professional, Executive, Student, and Retired memberships are best for you.

 

How do I change my chapter?

Email the WTS International Membership team with the chapter you need to move to.

 

How can I change my membership type?

Email the WTS International Membership team with the membership level you need to move to.

 
How do I determine my current membership status?

Log into MyWTS on the WTS International website. Click Membership, then Membership Summary to see your current membership status. If this page does not reflect an active membership, you will need to reinstate or renew your membership by clicking Join WTS or Renew Membership.

 
How do I manage an employer-sponsored membership?

Reach out to your employer’s local WTS representative. Chapter leadership may be able to help identify this representative. Chapter contact information is available on our website.

 
How do I manage a chapter-sponsored membership?

Reach out to your local WTS chapter to manage your sponsored membership. Chapter contact information is available on our website.

 


Navigating MyWTS

 

How do I reset my MyWTS password or locate my username?

Click the password reset link on the login page. If the email expires, simply click the link again to have a new one resent to you. If you do not receive a reset email, contact WTS International Helpdesk

 

I am a chapter leader and don’t see Chapter Leader Resources when I login.

Ensure that your leadership roster has been submitted if you just had an election, and follow up with with the WTS International Membership team.

 
How do I add my employer to the existing companies list?

Contact WTS International and provide the name of the company, its website, and headquarters address. 
 


WTS International Meetings & Events

 

I am an AICP and I need credit from a WTS International or WTS International chapter event. How do I get credit?

WTS International submits CM credits to the American Planning Association upon receiving the information from the chapter and/or we submit our own event on the APA website. To view credits that have been approved please go to: https://www.planning.org/cm/search/ If you don’t see an event here, you can contact us or your chapter depending on the event.

How do I become a Corporate Sponsor for my local WTS chapter?

Scholarships & Awards

 

I don't have access to the Scholarship application in MyWTS. How do I get access?

This year, the WTS Foundation scholarships and Partner awards will be hosted on a new platform. Look for information on this in your email and with your local WTS Base Chapter.

In the meantime, double check your membership to be certain it is active, and ensure that your chapter officer(s) have completed the 2025 Chapter Leader Roster. Only active WTS chapter leadership are able to submit applications for WTS scholarships and awards.

 

Where can a letter of recommendation be sent outside of the application?

All letters submitted by a Base Chapter should be sent to the WTS Helpdesk with the name of the applicant in the Subject Line.

If you're an applicant, submit your letter of recommendation to your Chapter's Scholarship Chair.

 

I attend school internationally. Am I eligible for the Strategic Partner scholarship?

Yes, as long as you (the applicant) meet the criteria of the category.

 

Are high school students eligible for a Strategic Partner scholarship?

No, an applicant must be at least a college freshman in order to apply.

 

Are high school students eligible for a Chapter submitted scholarship?

Yes, the Junior College scholarship is open to High School Seniors and must be submitted through the local WTS Chapter.

 

As an individual, can I submit a nomination for a Recognition Award?

No, all Recognition Award nominations must be submitted by a local Chapter Leader.
