Description:
Support the City of San Diego in pursuing grant funding for planning efforts, programs, and capital improvement projects across all mayoral departments. Tasks will include the following: note-taking, researching grant opportunities, inventorying funding needs of departments, updating tracking tools (e.g. funding calendar), and developing application templates and other resources, among other tasks.
(1) Learn about general City operations and current City funding needs by take notes in meetings with departments and inventorying department funding needs at least 2-3 times a month.
(2) Gain an understanding of the general structure of state and federal grant opportunities by researching at least 2-3 grants each month.
(3) Learn how City planning efforts, programs, and capital improvement projects can be funded by grant opportunities by updating tracking tools (e.g., funding calendar) each week.
(4) Learn about the grant application development process by creating application templates and other resources, as needed.
Location: Hybrid (Downtown San Diego / Telework)
Salary Range: $17.12-$21.02 / per hour
