Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
WTS Central Pennsylvania Chapter is committed to equity and access for women in transportation. One of the ways that we ensure the voices of the women we serve are heard is through our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Advocacy initiatives!
WTS Central Pennsylvania Chapter would like to acknowledge and introduce the founding members of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee:

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee’s first initiative for the year was to create a committee. Since the original objective has been completed, the next step is to develop our long-term goals together. For now, our plans are to have a few events planned for networking and development. We look forward to working with other committees to support each other and make certain every voice is being heard and represented.
If you are interested in joining our Committee or hearing more about our Diversity and Inclusion efforts at WTS Central PA, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Chair, Nexa Castro (Nexa.Castro@outlook.com).

What made you want to join WTS/DE&I?
At my first job out of school I was one of two women in the office, so I initially joined to be able to get to interact and learn from more women in the industry.
What is one piece of advice that you would like to pass on to others?
To prioritize your own happiness and be your authentic self. Others’ happiness and comfort is not worth more than yours.
What is something you are totally passionate about and why?
House plants. My house has an absurd amount of them. I think they are all beautiful and I like the idea of bringing some nature indoors. I find it very rewarding to see them grow, especially with how picky some are about their environment.

Man! I Feel Like a Woman! – Shania Twain
What are your top three favorite activities you do in your free time?
Hiking, reading, and rec sports

That I used to perform in drag.
