Committee Leadership
Membership Committee:
This committee reviews the monthly membership list and sends out welcome emails to new members. The Committee organizes an annual happy hour/membership drive, coffee & conversations, book club / podcast club, and the Annual Membership Meeting in December. The focus is member retention, networking, and growing the membership.

Programs & Professional Development Committee:
For 2026, we are combining the Programs and Professional development committees. The goal is to offer four professional development events per year (generally virtual workshops) and four in-person programs per year, which we move around the State. The in-person programs include a variety of industry speakers and project tours. The Committee organizes the speaker and location. The focus is delivering valuable programs to our members for all modes of transportation.

Sponsorship Committee:
This committee develops the annual sponsorship brochure, reaches out to potential sponsors, and then helps to organize payment, receipts of logos and firm information, etc. Our sponsors allow us to offer the many great programs that we have, and the focus is to work closely with firms to receive commitments for sponsorship.

Communications Committee:
This committee is vital to our organization! Works with other committees to develop graphics for event advertising and registration, social media, and development of quarterly newsletter. The focus is to provide communication of our events, WTS news, and sharing our mission.

Scholarship & Awards Committee:
This committee administers the annual scholarship & awards applications and review, and coordinates with the winners to attend our signature Transportation Trailblazers event. The Committee helps write the Run of Show for the Trailblazer events to include aa video of the scholarship winners and bios for the Award winners. The focus is to recognize students, firms, and individuals for their commitment to the industry.

Transportation YOU Committee:
The WTS Transportation YOU program is a hands-on, interactive mentoring program that offers students an introduction to a wide variety of careers in transportation. The South Carolina Transportation You committee will promote transportation careers in the built environment for young women (middle and high school age) within South Carolina by exposing them to various career paths. Determine opportunities for community outreach, including activities focused on attracting young women to the transportation profession.

Community Engagement Committee:
WTS International promotes a vision of full equity and access for women in transportation. Engagement, diversity and inclusion have always been at the core of WTS; this aims to form strategic goals and actionable solutions to attain equity and access. This committee plans two programs per year with a focus Inclusion Topics in the transportation industry. One of those programs includes helping to organize a regional virtual event. The focus is to deliver meaning programs.

Special Events Committee:
Leads the planning for any large WTS SC Chapter Events (currently the annual Transportation Trailblazers event). Organizes venue, program and speakers, food, decorating, signage, event sponsorship and runs the event that day of. Also assists other Committees plan the logistics for large events.
