Our Chapter


WTS-Los Angeles – one of the largest WTS chapters – is a trendsetting, vibrant chapter that provides outstanding advantages to its members through exceptional VIP speakers, pioneering programs, leadership training, high school and university outreach, and mentoring and professional development. Abdollah Ansari, Senior Executive Officer, Highway Program, for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro)

Metro Highway Program: On January 30, 2020, WTS-LA hosted a lunch program featuring Abdollah Ansari, Senior Executive Officer, Highway Program, for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). Mr. Ansari is leading the delivery of highway improvement projects with a budget of $8 billion under Measure R and $20+ billion under Measure M supplemented by State and federal funds. Passenger Rail Program: On July 29, 2020, WTS-LA hosted a rail panel featuring Jeanet Owens, Senior Executive Officer, Program Management and Regional Rail, Metro; June Susilo, Deputy Executive Officer, Program Management, Metro; Todd McIntyre, Chief Strategy Officer, Metrolink; and Donna DeMartino, Managing Director, Los Angeles–San Diego–San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) Rail Corridor Agency. Scholarship Recipients

At the Annual Scholarship and Awards dinner on November 7, 2019, WTS-LA awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to deserving young women in high school, community college, undergraduate, and graduate programs in transportation-related fields.
