Our Chapter
Welcome to WTS Puget Sound!
It was the fall of 1982 when the Puget Sound Chapter had its first general meeting. Since then, the WTS Puget Sound Chapter has come a long way and today, WTS has become one of the most visible and valued forums for discussing transportation trends and projects and highlighting women in transportation leadership.
A message from the WTS Puget Sound Board President
It is truly and honor to serve as President of our chapter for the 2025-2026 program year. The Puget Sound chapter boasts over 150 individual WTS International members and more than 60 Corporate members, including 12 DBE Corporate members. Our Board is comprised of 8 Executive members, 15 working committees that are run by over 80 board members, and an Advisory Board that provides council and guidance to our Executive Board. Thanks to hard work and dedication of these wonderful volunteers we are able to put on a wide range of events and programs that bring our diverse transportation community together!
I hope you will come out and join our chapter as we implement our ambitious workplan for the year, including:
- Programs: Join us for a lunch or after-work program to hear from industry leaders, engage in discussions on current topics and events, or learn about the newest project or technology being applied in the transportation sector.
- Professional Development and Mentorship: Attend our annual professional development workshop or develop a one-on-one relationships as a mentor or mentee.
- Awards and Scholarship Gala: Celebrate the year's best projects and most inspiring professionals, while helping to raise funds for our scholarship recipients at the premier transportation event of the year.
- Reading Group: Read, discuss, and share ideas on thought-provoking transportation-themed books and articles.
- Networking: Attend one of our happy hours or other programs, where we always leave time for networking.

Finally, I want to thank our sponsors and volunteers, without whom none of our great work to advance transportation through the global advancement of women would be possible.
Sincerely,
Cora Johnson, GeoEngineers
