Our Chapter

Welcome to WTS Puget Sound!

It was the fall of 1982 when the Puget Sound Chapter had its first general meeting. Since then, the WTS Puget Sound Chapter has come a long way and today, WTS has become one of the most visible and valued forums for discussing transportation trends and projects and highlighting women in transportation leadership.

2020 Gala Update and Statement Regarding Refunds

On behalf of WTS Puget Sound, we want to extend our sincere apologies for not yet being able to obtain refunds for the tickets purchased through Brown Paper Tickets for our March 2020 Annual Scholarships and Awards Gala. We have continued to reach out to Brown Paper Tickets without response. We have filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General’s office, and we have initiated contact with a local law firm to explore options for legal assistance in recovering the funds. Thank you for your continued patience as we try to resolve this matter.

A message from the WTS Puget Sound Board President

Kelly Cheeseman, 2020-2021 President

What a unique and challenging year 2020 has been. Starting with the cancellation of our Awards and Scholarships Gala and leading to a complete shift in how we work, learn and connect with others, 2020 has pushed us to create solutions to situations we never would have imagined a year ago. Through all of this, I’ve been extremely proud of how the WTS Puget Sound Chapter has been able to prioritize, adapt, and relaunch itself in this remote-based environment. After all, that’s what women in transportation do — they encounter new and unique challenges and they collaborate, evaluate and innovate to solve them.

I want to specifically thank our WTS Puget Sound corporate sponsors, board members, and all chapter members who continue to support the programs and activities that help us advance our mission. As we plan out the 2020 – 2021 year, we are closely following state and government guidelines to ensure our events are safe for everyone to attend and still provide you with the content and connections that brought you to WTS in the first place.

In the meantime, please stay safe. I look forward to seeing you again soon.
