Appointments Committee
This committee advises members of opportunities for appointments, and helps match candidates to openings and forward to appropriate selection panels. The committee helps at every step of the way by educating about the appointments process, applications and preparation for interviews.
Communications Committee
Responsible for public relations, the Communications Committee prepares and distributes communication materials with members and partners including email, social media, graphic design, print collateral, and maintaining the blog and website.
Corporate Partners Committee
Throughout the year, this committee coordinates with WTS-OC's Corporate Partners and a variety of other committees to showcase the partners in the monthly luncheons, the Corporate Partner reception, special programs and the Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala.
Diversity Committee
The Diversity Committee strives to promote Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms by making introductions with our prime engineering firms as well as providing educational opportunities related to contracting with public agencies.
Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee is responsible for registration of all WTS-OC programs which involves organizing and setting up events, coordinating with the Programs Chair and Corporate Sponsors Chair, and registering program speakers and sponsors for every event.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for developing and communicating WTS-OC member benefits and maintaining the chapter's contact lists. The membership committee also works with current members to renew their membership and encourages potential members to join.
Mentoring Committee
WTS encourages professional development and recognizing women in transportation. WTS-OC’s Mentoring Program matches young professionals with an accomplished industry professional for one-on-one mentoring.
Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee is responsible for managing chapter board members, committee chairs, and annual award nominations. The committee prepares election materials and schedules, identifies the award process and contacts all nominees to inform them of the election results.
Programs Committee
The committee develops a program schedule for the upcoming year, including speakers and venues for each event. Additional responsibilities include setting up audio and visual needs, coordinating materials with speakers, organizing photography, and developing printed collateral for events.
Scholarships Committee
The Scholarship Committee works with the community and partners to offer high school, community college, undergraduate and graduate scholarships to girls and women. The committee interacts with applicants throughout the application process and introduces winners to professionals in the industry.
Student Outreach Committee
Student Outreach is responsible for planning WTS-Orange County's annual Transportation Academy. Transportation Academy is a two-week immersion into different facets of the transportation industry for undergraduate and graduate college students.
Transportation YOU Committee
This committee organizes an annual Girl’s Engineering Day, an event held in partnership with the Anaheim Union High School District. The program consists of breakout sessions covering geotechnical and highway engineering, planning, and surveying in the transportation industry.
