Scholarships

The applications for 2024 have closed. 

Each year the WTS Greater Chicago Chapter honors exceptional young women as they pursue careers in the transportation industry. Our chapter offers six local scholarships for women seeking both undergraduate and graduate degrees. These scholarships include:

  • Transportation YOU High School Scholarship ($1,000) - closed
  • Sharon D. Banks Memorial Scholarship for Undergraduates ($3,000) - closed
  • Molitoris Leadership Scholarship for Undergraduates ($2,000) - closed
  • Helene M. Overly Memorial Scholarship for Graduates ($5,000) - closed 
  • Jannet Walker-Ford Leadership Legacy Scholarship for Graduates ($3,000) - closed
  • Junior College Scholarship ($1,000) - closed
Chapter Scholarships
  • President’s Scholarship - closed
  • Scholarships funded by our Executive Partners ($2,000) - closed
  • Diversity in Transportation Scholarship - closed

Eligibility

  • All female college students who currently attend school in Illinois, are enrolled in a school outside of Illinois and have a permanent Illinois address, or are enrolled in a school outside Illinois and have an internship in Illinois
  • All female high school seniors in local public and private high schools
  • All female high school seniors who plan to attend and college students who currently attend school at a local community college or trade school
Non-CPS Seniors:
