Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Salt Lake City team! This key role will lead traffic engineering projects for the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and other state and local agencies, offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including design-build.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead traffic design and operation projects

  • Provide oversight for roadway lighting, signage, traffic signals, and more

  • Perform traffic analysis for highways, streets, and multi-modal facilities

  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and internal teams

  • Mentor and guide junior staff members

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency with simulation software (Synchro, VISSIM), GIS, CAD

  • Familiarity with MUTCD, AASHTO standards

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)

  • Licensed PE in Utah (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

  • 5+ years of direct traffic engineering experience

Annual Salary Range: $79,000 - $135,000 (DOE)

    Starting Pay: Grade 726 $71,739.20 - $82,409.60 Annually

    Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday

    Job Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or similar planning-related field.
    2. Four (4) years of work experience performing and leading transportation planning activities.

Work with the WFRC Analytics Group on a variety of projects that support regional
mapping/analysis, travel demand modeling, and land use forecasting. Specific topics
may include road, transit, and bicycle/pedestrian travel; housing, parcels, and land use
plans; regional employment distribution; and economic development and regional
quality of life. Skills and interests that may be called upon include: GIS and spatial
analysis; Python coding and platforms for automating repeatable data processing
tasks (R, SQL, ArcPro model builder, etc); statistics and modeling;

UDOT Region III is looking to hire a Regional Planning Manager

Regional Planning Manager (Engineer and Non-Engineer)
