Volkert is currently searching for an experienced Roadway Project Manager and Roadway Engineer to support its Southeast Region located in Miami, FL or Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 


ROADWAY PROJECT MANAGER

What you’ll be doing:
 
•    FDOT and local agency business development and marketing
•    Roadway design practice building
•    Provide plan review and project management for the FDOT and/or the local municipalities in this region
•    Responsible for organizing activities, schedules, and reporting in support of assigned projects
•    Prepare, issue and track project documentation such as contracts, change orders, client sign-off, etc. for all phases of assigned project work
•    Prepare correspondence and documents with clients, vendors and regulatory agencies as required
•    Assist with other documents such as invoices and purchase orders; and communicate with outside resources when needed
•    Preparing and/or editing meeting minutes and presentations
•    Assist with project submittals and bidding activities
•    Provide support to project team as requested
•    Support our team and client by providing technical and administrative support
•    Market local municipal clients
•    Performs other duties as assigned
 
What you need to have:
 
•    BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
•    8 - 15 years relevant experience in roadway design
•    Must have proven skills in meeting DOT expectations, schedules, and budgets
•    FDOT experience is required
•    PE required
•    Experienced in DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications
•    Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing medium to large projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects
•    Proven leadership, communication, mentoring and client liaison skills
•    Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer required
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•    Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
•    Valid driver's license.
•    A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).

ROADWAY ENGINEER

What you’ll be doing:
•    Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects
•    Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates
•    Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs
•    Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications
•    Perform quantity estimates, detailing and check calculations and drawings
•    Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments
•    Performs other duties as assigned 
What you need to have:
•    BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
•    Professional Engineering License in the State of Florida
•    6 - 8 years of experience in roadway design
•    Proficient with Bentley OpenRoads Designer
