Position: Transportation Planner

WORK OBJECTIVE: Responsible for planning, development, and administration of transportation programs, planning studies, marketing, marketing research, federal government transit programs, grant administration. Serves as a liaison for Hallandale Beach with the business community, citizen groups, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Broward County, and other governmental agencies. Work is performed under nominal direction with considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position develops solutions to non-routine issues, without appreciable guidance from others and exercises significant latitude in determining best approaches to critical assignments.

Position: Traffic Engineer III

WORK OBJECTIVE: Performs complex professional, technical, administrative, and engineering work for transportation engineering projects. Ensures the safe and efficient operation of roadways by overseeing studies, design, analysis, and implementation of traffic solutions including supervising and coordinating the department’s transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic safety for all modes of travel, traffic calming, private development review process related to traffic engineering, and responding to traffic requests and inquiries. Work is performed independently under limited supervision with moderate latitude.
