Seerat Kaur is a graduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University, pursuing a master’s degree in applied computing. Her research focuses on advancing data-driven Intelligent Transportation Systems by developing privacy-preserving and adaptive traffic prediction frameworks that support smart urban mobility, real-time decision-making, and sustainable city planning. By designing scalable solutions that respect data privacy and adapt to changing traffic patterns, her work aims to support city planners, policymakers, and commuters alike.
Motivated by a vision of sustainable cities, Seerat is focused on integrating advanced AI technologies into transportation design to make mobility safer, smarter, and more accessible for everyone. Recognizing the importance of representation in transportation, she is committed to learning from strong women leaders, advocating for inclusive innovation, and supporting the advancement of women in technology and transportation.
With hands-on experience in software development and data science, Seerat has built predictive tools and decision-support dashboards in both academic research and industry projects. As a student leader, mentor, and volunteer, she also guides peers in navigating complex computing concepts with confidence. Outside of academics, Seerat is an athlete, folk dancer, and community leader who finds balance through wellness and creativity.
Above all, Seerat is passionate about advancing transportation systems and looks forward to building on this foundation as she grows her impact in the field.
