WTS CT is looking for presenters for this year’s Transportation Mini-Series!
WTS CT is proud to announce this year’s Transportation Mini-Series theme: Pathways to Progress: Advancing Transportation for a ConneCTed Future!
We encourage collaboration between consultants, clients, public and private sector to create a diverse panel of industry leaders for our 19th Annual Transportation Mini-Series. To submit your abstract, please fill out this form by Sunday, June 30. This year’s TMS is on Thursday, October 16th at the DoubleTree in Bristol.
Track 1: Innovating Transportation
This track will explore innovative and impactful transportation initiatives. Ideal for professionals and project teams leading or participating in projects that advance the field of transportation. Submissions should focus on real-world projects that address key challenges and opportunities within the industry. The goal is to highlight innovative solutions, lessons learned, and the evolving future of mobility.
Potential Topics Include:
- Smart Transportation Solutions
- Multimodal Transportation Systems
- Community-Centered Projects
- Infrastructure for Emerging Technologies (e.g., Electric Vehicles)
- Local and Regional Projects (Design and/or Construction)
- Innovations in Project Delivery and Implementation
- Lessons Learned from Large-Scale Projects
- Bridges, Rail, and Other Major Infrastructure Projects
- Addressing Extreme Events (e.g., Boat Collisions, Fires, Earthquakes)
- Landscape Architecture in Transportation

Track 2: Empowering Leadership & Growth
This track is designed to support and empower those in the transportation industry by fostering conversations around leadership development, career advancement, and the unique challenges and opportunities faced by individuals in the transportation sector. This track provides an opportunity to learn from one another while gaining practical tools for growth and success in the workplace.
Potential topics include but are not limited to:
- Leadership Development
- Overcoming Barriers and Seizing Opportunities in the Workforce
- Building Professional Relationships
- Achieving Work-Life Balance in a Demanding Industry
- Essential Soft Skills for Career Success (e.g., Communication, Conflict Resolution)
- Networking Tips & Best Practices
- Managing Across Generations in the Workplace
- Professional Development and Career Pathways
- Personal Branding (e.g., LinkedIn Tutorials)
- Outreach to High School Students: Shadowing and Career Exploration

Track 3: Shaping the Future of Transportation
This track will explore policy development, urban planning, and sustainable mobility solutions that are essential for shaping the future of transportation systems. Focusing on the intersection of transportation, policy, and planning, with emphasis on creating sustainable, equitable, and resilient transportation networks.
Potential topics include but are not limited to:
- Transportation Policy & Advocacy
- Urban and Regional Planning for Future Mobility
- Sustainable Transportation Solutions
- Transportation and Mobility Access For All
- Resilient Transportation Infrastructure
- Technology’s Role in Improving Transportation (e.g., Automated Speed Control, AI in Public Transit)

- Enhancing Walkable Communities and Urban Mobility

Open Track
- This track allows for presentations that don’t fit into the predefined tracks above but are still relevant to the transportation field. If your topic addresses a key challenge, innovation, or solution within transportation, we encourage you to submit it for consideration.

1. Click on the first session you attended
2. Log in to your ITE account (If you do not have an account; you can create an
account by clicking where it says, If you do not have a username and
password, click here to create a new account.)
3. Click on the Survey Tab
4. Answer the 2 questions
5. Click Next
6. Click Submit Answers
7. Click on Go to the Next Item
8. Print out your certificate
Go back to the top of the page and click on Connecticut ITE: Transportation Mini-
Series - October 17, 2024 and repeat the steps above to submit PDHs for all the
sessions you attended.
All meeting attendees will have 60 days to complete the evaluation provided and
receive their certificate. After 60 days the evaluation will not be available.
