On August 12, 2022, WTS Los Angeles members toured Long Beach Airport's Phase II Terminal Area Improvements. The City of Long Beach’s Kate Kuykendall, Stephan Lum, and Vanessa Estrada hosted WTS-LA, with a special appearance from LGB airport director Cynthia Guidry, P.E. Attendees were treated to a tour of ongoing construction activities on this $110 million pre-security enhancements modernization program including the New Ticketing Lobby and Checked Baggage Inspection System. This project is being delivered as a Progressive Design Build with Swinerton as the Contractor, Corgan as the Designer, and Anser Advisory as the Construction Manager.

Long Beach Airport recently celebrated the Grand Opening of the ticketing facility, and the baggage facility will be completed by the end of this year. The modernization program includes seismic upgrade of the historic main ticketing facility constructed in 1923. This historic building will retain many of the original features and artwork as it converts into a rental car facility.
