Ramping Up Our Resilience: A Closer Look at How Agencies Approach Planning & Designing More Resilient Infrastructure
The past decade has seen increased focus from the transportation industry on planning and designing more resilient infrastructure. Public agencies are being asked to prepare for and respond to emergencies, mitigate climate change and support the resilience of infrastructure assets, and are responding with zero emission and hybrid-electric transit options, climate action plans, and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory and mitigation strategies, all while facing new regulations and funding requirements. This panel will highlight projects and programmatic planning efforts that their transportation agencies have taken to plan for or respond to the opportunities in their respective geographies. Presentations will be followed by a short question and answer period.
Speakers include:
- Deborah Reardon: Regional Planning Manager, RTC of Southern Nevada
- Jared Bilberry: Senior Regional Planner, RTC of Southern Nevada
- Nicole McIntosh: Deputy Assistant Secretary, Ferries Division, Washington State Department of Transportation
