Andrea Clegg - President

Andrea is a Project Manager in GHD’s Transportation Group with over 15 years of experience in transportation projects. Her experience extends from intersection improvements, bridge rehabilitations, bridge replacements, minor highway resurfacing projects to high profile King’s highway reconstruction, and freeway expansion projects. Andrea thrives in challenging environments and takes pride in being a part of diverse teams to deliver successful projects and reach mutually positive goals. She is strategic in understanding the steps to complete design assignments and has excellent communication, organizational and time management skills developed by working on several municipal and highway design projects concurrently. She has extensive project specific experience in preliminary and detail design, development and delivery of tender-ready packages, presentations to stakeholders, the public and senior executives, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and working directly with on-site teams to resolve construction concerns.
Andrea has been a WTS member since 2019. She participated in the Toronto Chapter's mentorship program for two years, as events manager for the SW Ontario Chapter and now is the President for the SW Ontario Chapter. She is looking forward to continuing the hard work of the previous board and engaging the WTS community.

Marie Hertzberger - Vice President

Marie is a Senior Design Engineer & Project Manager in the Civil Team at Walterfedy specializing in industrial and institutions. She has an extensive portfolio with over 20 years of experience, overseeing projects from conception to completion involving regulatory approvals, reporting, site servicing, design, tender and specification packages, and construction administration.

Marie joined WTS in 2023 and became Vice President for the SW Ontario Chapter. She is looking forward to continuing the vison of the previous board members.

 

 

 

 

Christine Beard - Past President

Christine is a Senior Structural Engineer managing the Bridge team in the AECOM Kitchener office with over 20 years of experience in project management, structural analysis, design, contract preparation, and contract administration. She has experience in various types of bridge projects including design of new bridges, widenings, rehabilitation, moveable and heritage rehabilitation. In her spare time after volunteering for WTS SW Ontario and KW Waterpolo you will find her on the ski hill or planning her next backcountry canoeing adventure.

 

 

 

Daniela Nogueira - Secretary

Daniela graduated from the University of Évora (Portugal) with a Licentiate’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering (with Canadian equivalency to a master’s degree). She has over five-year experience in land development and improvement, specifically in agricultural land drainage, as well as over a decade of project management and client relations in agricultural engineering, environmental and other professional settings, both in the private and public sectors, in Canada and abroad. She has also directed operations for rural roads and small hydraulic structures recovery process, as well as topographical surveys to facilitate the redesign and/or maintenance of surficial land drainage structures and unpaved rural roads.

Daniela joined GRIT Engineering Inc., a civil and geotechnical engineering and surveying consulting firm based out of Stratford, ON, in February 2022, with a technical and administrative support role. She became a member of WTS in 2023 and is now the Secretary for the SW Ontario Chapter.

Erica Bayley - Director, EDI

Erica has over 13 years of professional experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, and parking management in her role as Senior Project Manager for Paradigm Transportation Solutions Ltd. Over her career, Erica has successfully completed transportation and infrastructure master plans, class environmental assessments, transportation corridor studies, travel survey management and data analysis, and transportation impact assessments in municipalities across Ontario. She has proven expertise in active transportation, traffic calming, Transportation Demand Management (TDM), traffic operations, travel demand forecasting, parking management, public consultation, and infrastructure design. Erica is a leader in Quality Control within the firm, has a passion for public consultation and building meaningful relationships with her clients and colleagues. 

 

 

Kayla Groff - Director, Communications

Kayla is a Structural EIT at AECOM and the Communications Director for the WTS SW Ontario Chapter. Her experience ranges from bridge rehabilitation, bridge analysis, bridge modeling, and retaining wall inspection. She is detail orientated, and good at multi- tasking which she developed from working on different projects at once. 

Kayla graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural Specialization. During her undergrad Kayla spent a term studying abroad at the University of Leeds and traveling.

 

 

 

 

 

Jenny Setterfield - Director, Membership

Jenny is a Certified Engineering Technologist and has been in the transportation engineering industry for over 20 years.  Her experience has been in Provincial and Municipal Government and is currently the Manager of Transportation Engineering with the City of Waterloo.  Her portfolio ranges from leading dynamic teams to ensuring the road network meets safety, capacity and legislative requirements for all road users. She has extensive experience with traffic operations, road safety initiatives, corridor management and transportation development review.  She has also recently acquired her Certified Road Supervisor status through the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors. Her passion is to coach and mentor staff to support their career journey.  Jenny has been a WTS member since 2014 and is excited to be part of the new SW Ontario Chapter as a Director.

 

 

 

 

Kyla Farmer - Director

Kyla, C.E.T., PMP, is a Certified Engineering Technologist and Project Manager working for the Town of Halton Hills as part of the Engineering & Construction team. She has over 7 years experience in municipal engineering and project management, with specific focus on the maintenance and rehabilitation of transportation structures, stormwater treatment, and asset management. In addition to her career in municipal government, Kyla is also an Adjunct Professor at Conestoga College in the Project Management Graduate Program. 

Kyla has been an active volunteer in the industry since 2021, serving previously on OACETT's Young Professionals Committee and currently acting as a Women in Technology representative and Board Executive for OACETT's Grand Valley Chapter. She joined the WTS SW Ontario Chapter as a director in 2023 and is excited to support and contribute to the initiatives of WTS.  

Mavjot Kaur - Scholarship Relations

Mavjot is a graduate student at University of Waterloo pursuing Master’s degree in transportation engineering. Her research focuses on road safety of vulnerable users to promote equity using sustainable approaches. She is also working on a Winter Road maintenance project. Before relocating to Canada, Mavjot was a Road Safety Engineer where she worked on road safety projects in collaboration with the Government of Punjab and National Highway Authority of India.

Mavjot is a WTS member and has been managing scholarship relations for Southwest Ontario Chapter.
