WTS Northeast Florida wants to recognize our members, employers and associates in the transportation community who have made significant contributions to our Chapter, transportation profession, and our community. Our Chapter is looking for nominations for the following annual recognition awards. The general criteria for each award are provided within each nomination form through the links provided below.

Member of the Year (click here to download nomination form)

This award acknowledges a WTS member who has made extraordinary contributions to the success of the organization. This award recognizes a member who has shown an exceptional commitment to the goals and growth of WTS by working effectively in support of WTS goals. This member has promoted the reputation of WTS within the transportation industry; worked effectively to strengthen communication between local and national WTS levels or between chapters; or a member who has done an outstanding job of revitalizing or expanding a chapter or any of its functions.

Woman of the Year (click here to download nomination form)

This award is designed to reach out beyond our membership to honor a woman who is an outstanding role model in transportation. It is not a reward for service to WTS. This award should recognize a woman who is a leader in transportation and has made an outstanding contribution to the transportation industry; or has directly contributed toward the advancement of women and minorities through programs or opportunities in the transportation field; or a woman who through her career achievements and support of women in the industry has advanced the reputation and credibility of women in transportation.

This award is designed to honor a business for their support of the goals and purpose of WTS. It is not a reward for monetary contributions. Selection of Employer of the Year shall recognize an organization that has enhanced the transportation industry through its commitment to excellence and quality in the services it provides or products it produces; an organization that supports continuing education of its employees; and an organization that has supported WTS. 

Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award (click here to download nomination form)

This award is presented to recognize an individual(s) or organization(s) that have exhibited outstanding and extraordinary efforts or initiative(s) in developing opportunities for women and minorities and has contributed significantly to promoting diversity and cultural awareness within their organization, the transportation industry or in a project or activity that supports the goals and mission of WTS.

Transportation Innovative Solutions Award (click here to download nomination form)

This award is presented to a program, team, project, or initiative, organization(s) or individual(s) that have demonstrated innovative processes or unique practices were critical in solving a transportation challenge and the team was able to overcome obstacles in providing a solution. Th project manager or team leader should be led by a woman. The program, project or initiative was successfully implemented to achieve a goal or meet challenges in the community.

Honorable Ray LaHood Award (click here to download nomination form)

This award is presented to a man who has led by example, seeking out opportunities to advance and advocate for women in his own organization, and who has actively ensured that women are able to compete for key positions of authority within that organization. This award shall consider a man who has directly contributed toward the advancement of women and minorities through programs or opportunities in the transportation field.

This award recognizes an educator in Northeast Florida who is an outstanding leader and role model in transportation. This award should honor an individual devoted to student success, who has achieved exceptional accomplishments in the transportation industry or has significantly supported the goals and mission of WTS.
