AWARDS GALA & RECOGNITIONS COMMITTEE
Chairs: Danah AlAwadhi - Corradino & Cassie Reiter - CMT
Responsible for soliciting award nominations for four local awards, creating a recognition review panel, and submitting award winners to WTS International. This committee manages the yearly awards gala, typically held in November. Committee meetings are typically monthly starting in the 2nd quarter. More activity as needed. CENTRAL REGION LIAISON
Liaison: Abby Godsey - United Consulting
Represents the WTS Indianapolis Chapter in Central Region Meetings. Responsible for sharing updates to Region Council during monthly meetings, and sharing details from Central Region with the WTS Indianapolis Board. This position has a 2-year term and requires approval from the Central Region Council.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
Chair: Emily Hailer - HNTB
Assist in writing, editing and layout of communications materials for chapter membership including flyers and email announcements. Gather information and write articles for our newsletter. Provide design and layout, publish and distribute to WTS members. Assist other committees by providing communications support; provide media outreach when appropriate. EQUITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION (ED&I) COMMITTEE
Chair: Monica Magallanes - HW Lochner, an Egis Company
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee (ED&I) supports the organization through development of the ED&I framework – the document that will guide our work – programs, and acting as a connection to other resources that amplify awareness of equity, inclusion and diversity issues.
We are not experts, but rather advocates for an environment that welcomes the inclusion of differences and similarities from all categories of WTS membership including ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, geography, & profession (WTS International Diversity and Inclusion Committee Charter). If you think you have ideas that can help or are interested in being a part of the ED&I Committee, please contact Monica Magallanes.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Emily Chen - WSP USA
Participate in recruitment of new members and retention of current members; welcome new members; initiate and run programs to increase membership and special events for members. Committee meetings are typically bi-monthly. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact Emily Chen.
PROGRAMS COMMITTEE
Chair: Lauren Ganapini - Egis
Responsible for monthly programs and assisting other committee’s events throughout the year. Committee members are encouraged to take the lead coordinator role for at least one month. Committee members work with decision makers in the community, tapping all modes of transportation for speakers and topics and event planning and logistics. MENTORSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Taylor Krout - American Structurepoint, Inc.
Leads the development and coordination of our organization's mentorship program and is responsible for creating meaningful connections between mentors and mentees, fostering an environment where members can learn, grow, and thrive in the transportation industry. Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing structured mentorship programs, recruiting mentors and mentees, facilitating matches, and ensuring a positive experience for all participants, hosting sessions, check-ins, and events for participants, and collaborating with the Board and committees to align initiatives with the goals of the organization. SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Sophie Sloneker - Egis
Solicit, review, select and secure applicants from area colleges and universities for three annual scholarship awards. Manage review of additional scholarships and outreach needs for college and trade school applicants. Manage the scholar communication for the Swings For Scholarship event, which typically occurs in April. Committee meetings are typically monthly and held virtually. SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE
Chairs: Nicky Kalck - Resolution Group, Inc.
Participate in recruitment of new corporate sponsors and retention of current partners; create partnership request letters; create and maintain benefit listings by serving as partner manager; welcome new partners; initiate and facilitate appreciation programs to recognize sponsors. Committee meetings are typically quarterly. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact Nicky Kalck.
SWINGS FOR SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Mariah Rodriguez - DCCM
Solicit, review, select and secure applicants from area colleges and universities for three annual scholarship awards. Manage a monthly raffle in support of the scholarship fund and promote scholarships through fundraising, articles in our newsletter and on the website. Manage the yearly scholarship banquet, which typically occurs in February or March. Committee meetings are typically bi-monthly. More activity as needed. TRANSPORTATION YOU COMMITTEE
Chair: Sarah Rubin - Egis
Develops programming to educate female high school students (ages 13-18) about transportation careers. Responsible for planning programs, coordinating with partner groups, and developing curricula and mentoring events. Committee meetings are typically monthly and held virtually.
