WTS Tampa Bay kicked off the new year with a focus on personal health by hosting the 2026 Health Reset: Foundations for Wellbeing on February 24, featuring Dr. Kirksak “Jay” Poonkasem, MD. The event provided members with practical, science‑based strategies for improving overall health through sustainable lifestyle choices.
Dr. Poonkasem introduced attendees to the principles of integrative medicine, emphasizing a whole‑person approach that connects mind, body, and spirit. His presentation explored how lifestyle habits such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and social connection play a critical role in preventing chronic disease and supporting long‑term health.
Key topics included the impact of chronic stress and burnout, the importance of quality sleep, and the role of movement and nutrition in everyday wellness. Dr. Jay also shared insights on how genetics may influence health risk, while daily lifestyle choices ultimately determine outcomes; a reminder that small, consistent changes can have a powerful impact.
Attendees were introduced to simple, actionable tools they can incorporate into their routines right away, including foundational nutrition guidance, achievable movement strategies, and stress management techniques such as the 4-7-8 breathing exercise.
The Health Reset event reflected WTS Tampa Bay’s commitment to supporting the holistic well-being of its members and recognized that professional success is closely tied to personal health.
