WTS Philadelphia’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee

Our WTS Philadelphia Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Committee promotes diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the Chapter by supporting the advancement of women and minorities in transportation. This includes:

  • Creating enhanced opportunities for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) to network and team with Primes 
  • Elevating the overall level of consciousness as related to the Chapter's operation, outreach, and business function, and, 
  • Developing diversity and inclusion programs related to the Chapter's membership. 

For WTS Philadelphia, ED&I is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time initiative.

The ED&I Committee is led by Director Mia Held from C&S Companies and Chair, Jennifer Waters from Urban Engineers. Our most recent initiative was a  virtual event on LGBTQ+ Experiences in the workplace. Our committee also prepares monthly writeups to spotlight and highlight women and minorities in our industry. Other activities in progress include ensuring all WTS Philadelphia committees look through an ED&I lens when planning events and initiatives and working with women and minority owned businesses to help them advance.
