WTS Philadelphia Shines at the 2025 WTS International Conference

Members of the WTS Philadelphia Chapter made a strong showing at the 2025 WTS International Conference in Toronto. Over 1,200 attendees gathered to celebrate, learn, and advance the WTS's mission. More than 20 members from the Philadelphia Chapter, led by Chapter President Abbey Gancz, were in attendance.
A major highlight came Thursday night at the conference awards gala, where David Didier, Chief Operating Officer for AECOM’s East Region, received the prestigious WTS International Honorable Ray LaHood Award. David, previously honored with the Secretary Ray LaHood Award by WTS Philadelphia in 2024, was selected from a distinguished group of regional nominees representing chapters nationwide. His selection at the international level is a great recognition of his continued leadership and commitment to the advancement of women in transportation.
The conference also named WTS Philadelphia a Gold Chapter, recognizing its dedication, excellence, and growing impact. It is now the fifth-largest chapter in the organization!
Vice President Jaclyn Whelan and Northeast Regional Council Representative Erica Antoine took the stage during the Chapter Leadership Training, sharing insights on cultivating leadership and engagement in smaller chapters.
Special recognition goes to Bridgette Beato, Chair of WTS International and a proud Philadelphia Chapter member, for her leadership in organizing such a successful conference experience.
Additionally, the chapter celebrates the continued service and impact of its members at the national level. Alanna Strohecker of AECOM currently serves on the WTS International Board, and Jennifer Duval of Jacobs is a dedicated member of the WTS Foundation Board. Their leadership helps guide the organization and shape its strategic vision.
WTS Philadelphia also contributed to the WTS International Foundation and its scholarship programs, reinforcing the chapter’s commitment to supporting future transportation professionals.
Members are already looking forward to next year’s WTS International Conference, which will be held in Los Angeles!
