WTS Philadelphia Members Lead, Present, and Connect at Annual Conference
More than 20 members of the WTS Philadelphia Chapter traveled to Los Angeles, California, from May 5–7 for the WTS International Annual Conference. During the State of the Association update, Philadelphia was recognized as a Gold Circle of Excellence Chapter, highlighting the chapter’s continued leadership and impact across the organization.
A conference highlight was the chapter’s annual networking dinner, held at The Sky Deck at Perch. Members enjoyed an evening of connection, conversation, and stunning views overlooking downtown Los Angeles.
Philadelphia was also well represented throughout the conference program, with nine chapter members serving as presenters, moderators, and panelists. Outgoing WTS International Chair Bridgette Beato provided welcome remarks, moderated several plenary sessions, and led the Men Supporting Women in Transportation panel. Jen Duval moderated the Elevate Executive Engagement panel, featuring Kiera Crenny as a panelist.
Meryl Klein shared insights on the success of the Roosevelt Boulevard Automated Speed Enforcement program during a panel on implementation lessons from across North America. Laurie Matkowski participated in the Lessons in Excellence, Legacy, and Leadership from the WTS Women of the Year panel, moderated by Leslie Richards, who also served as a panelist in three additional sessions focused on innovation, leadership, and mentoring.
Additional chapter representation included Danielle Schroeder, who delivered a WTS Talk titled Circle of Continuity: Growing Professionals through WTS Philadelphia Student Outreach; Alanna Strohecker, who participated in the plenary session The New Mobility Blueprint: Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Transportation Innovations; and Faye Majekodunmi Harper, who moderated the panel Soft Skills, Strong Impact: Transforming Fundamentals to Career Superpowers.
The conference showcased the strength, expertise, and leadership of WTS Philadelphia members while providing valuable opportunities to connect with transportation professionals from across North America.
