Members of the WTS Philadelphia Lehigh Valley Annex recently joined forces with the ASHE East Penn Section and the Lehigh Valley Section of ASCE to host a dinner meeting at the historic Hotel Bethlehem. The event brought together 130 society members and guests for an in-depth discussion on one of the region’s most significant infrastructure projects, the S.R. 309 and Tilghman Street interchange in Lehigh County.

Featured speakers included Daniel Glennon, PE, of RK&K; Darren LePage, Senior ACE, PennDOT, District 5-0; and Benjamin Bayuk, Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor, PennDOT, District 5-0. The trio provided a comprehensive overview of the $86 million reconstruction of the S.R. 309 and Tilghman Street interchange in Lehigh County—a five-and-a-half-year undertaking aimed at improving traffic flow and safety.

The presentation covered the project’s scope, construction staging, and progress to date, offering attendees valuable insights into the complexities of modern transportation engineering. At the conclusion of the event, participants received one professional development hour (PDH) for their participation.
