WTS DC & COMTO DC Spring Bike Tour
This spring, WTS DC and COMTO DC came together for a bike tour in Reston, Virginia.
We were joined by Zack DesJardins from Fairfax County DOT’s Active Transportation team. The ride began at the Reston Metro Station and followed the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail west toward Herndon. Along the way, Zack shared insights about current and upcoming active transportation projects in Fairfax County and highlighted features and improvements along the corridor.
We made a stop in downtown Herndon at the historic caboose, where the group took a break and enjoyed lemonade from a local lemonade stand before heading back along the trail.
The bike tour was a great way to get outside, enjoy the trail network, and connect with other transportation professionals. It also provided a chance to experience the W&OD Trail and surrounding community spaces firsthand.
