WTS-Boston at the WTS International Annual Conference
The WTS-Boston Chapter had a strong presence at the WTS International Annual Conference held in Toronto from May 6 to 9, 2025, with more than 20 members presenting, attending sessions, and networking with colleagues across the US and Canada. The conference theme was the WTS Mosaic: Mobility + Momentum, as our industry advances mobility and access for an array of users.
The plenary sessions brought insights from executive leaders shaping local, state, and regional transportation in Toronto, Baltimore, Washington DC, Connecticut, Illinois, New York, Wisconsin, and Delaware, as well as leaders in professional organizations who partner with WTS, such as the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. Sessions held an impressive range of interests, including deeply technical and educational topics, and inspirational talks from both executives and aspiring leaders. Technical tours provided insights on multimodal passenger transportation hubs, rapid transit systems, bicycle infrastructure, and behind-the-scenes looks at the operations center and streetcar maintenance facility.
WTS-Boston was thrilled to cheer on our hometown hero, Mary Jane O'Meara, at the Awards & Scholarships Gala, where she received the Mary Peters Inspirational Leader award, a prestigious honor recognizing her dedicated service and mentorship within the transportation industry.
Members said the conference made them feel inspired and reinvigorated with ideas to strengthen our WTS-Boston Chapter and our workplaces.
As we bring the connections and inspiration back to our workplaces, we also look forward to next year's conference in Los Angeles.
