WTS-Boston Member on the Move: Loretta Girard Doughty, P.E.

WTS-Boston and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) would like to congratulate Loretta Girard Doughty, P.E., who was promoted to the position of Administrator for the Bureau of Bridge Design at the NHDOT this past year. It is of note that Loretta is the first woman in NHDOT history to achieve this position. Loretta’s skill set in project management and her impeccable work history of more than 30 years’ experience in successful completion of highway, bridge, intermodal, and specialty projects made her an ideal candidate for this leadership position within the New Hampshire Transportation community.

In her new role, Loretta will be leading her department in their mission of supporting transportation excellence through the stewardship of New Hampshire’s bridge network and developing the bridge program in support of innovation and resiliency. The NHDOT is a $650 Million state agency of over 1,600 employees dedicated to providing safe and efficient transportation systems. The Department consists of 18 Bureaus and 5 Divisions with over a Century of Public Service.

The NHDOT released the 2021 version of a condensed, easy to read Fact Book that contains information about the people, the structure, the assets, and what funding is available for transportation:  https://www.nh.gov/dot/org/commissioner/amps/documents/2021-nhdot-fact-book.pdf

Loretta is a long standing member of the WTS International Community and is a founding member of the recently ratified WTS-New Hampshire Charter. She currently serves on the WTS International Advisory Board and recently advanced to Chair of the WTS International Northeast Region Council for the 2021-2022 term.
