The WTS Philadelphia TrYOU team closed out the school year with an inspiring final outreach event at Blackwood Elementary! We had the pleasure of spending the day with 60 enthusiastic 5th-grade girls, introducing them to the exciting world of transportation engineering.

Our hands-on activities included:

• Gumdrop Structures – encouraging creativity and structural thinking
• K’nex Building Kits – fostering collaboration and design skills
• Tunnel Meetup – a student favorite that highlights the value of measurement and communication in real-world engineering

It was a day filled with energy, curiosity, and learning — the perfect way to end our school year of outreach.

A heartfelt thank you to Student Outreach Director, Gina Venuto, TrYOU Co-Chairs Maddie Marquardt and Kate Murphy for their enthusiastic volunteering and planning of this event, and to all of our incredible mentors who supported TrYOU events throughout the year.
