WTS International recently held its Capital Summit, where each chapter had the opportunity to send a mentor and a mentee to engage with other chapters and learn about the careers available in the transportation industry. Representing WTS Philadelphia were mentor Heather Palladino of Urban Engineers and mentee Vivian Palladino, Heather’s daughter.

The event was hosted at the University of Maryland and included tours of the Amtrak and MARC construction sites, the Capitol Building, and WMATA.

“The WTS Capital Summit brought together participants from across the country to learn about the many careers in transportation and see how different fields, such as engineering, marketing, and graphic design, contribute to the industry. It was especially meaningful for me to attend with my daughter as my mentee. It gave her the opportunity to see some of the possibilities in transportation and get a better understanding of the work I do. I’m grateful we were able to share the experience together,” said Heather.
