Restorative Sound Bath Brings Wellness to WTS-DC
Written by, Lindsay Robertson Lentz
The WTS DC Chapter recently hosted a restorative sound bath session, offering members an opportunity to pause, recharge, and prioritize well-being amid their demanding professional schedules.
The session was led by Johanna Olivas of Luna Sound Lounge in Bethesda, who guided participants through an immersive experience designed to promote relaxation and mental clarity. Hosted by APTA and held in a calm and welcoming setting, attendees were invited to rest comfortably while being enveloped in soothing sound frequencies produced by crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other therapeutic instruments.
The carefully curated soundscape created a meditative atmosphere, allowing participants to release tension, quiet the mind, and reconnect with a sense of balance. Beyond the immediate relaxation benefits, the session underscored the importance of integrating mindfulness and self-care into professional life.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many noting they felt more centered, refreshed, and energized following the experience. For several participants, the session served as an introduction to sound-based wellness practices, sparking interest in exploring similar approaches in the future.
WTS DC remains committed to supporting the holistic well-being of its members through diverse programming that fosters both professional development and personal resilience. This event exemplified the chapter’s dedication to creating meaningful opportunities for connection, reflection, and care within the community.
