New WTS Student Chapter: Welcome, Northeastern University!

The WTS-Boston Board voted to approve WTS-Boston's newest affiliated Student Chapter at Northeastern University at the July 2025 board meeting. Northeastern joins UMass Amherst and Harvard University as official student chapters affiliated with the WTS-Boston Chapter.

The WTS-Boston Board's unanimous vote comes after years of collaboration between Northeastern students and the WTS-Boston Student Chapter Committee. Together, they have worked to host successful events for Northeastern's student members, including site tours, panel events, guest speakers on student-selected topics, and an annual Alumni tea party. This past semester, the club welcomed Heather Hume, Northeastern lecturer and MBTA Senior Director of Centralized Training, as their faculty advisor.

WTS-Boston members interested in collaborating with the new student chapter as guest speakers, panel members, or site tour hosts should reach out to the Student Chapter committee to coordinate logistics. The Student Chapter committee and WTS Northeastern e-board are excited to continue putting on great events and promoting the participation and advancement of women in transportation during the upcoming school year and beyond!
