Mark Pelletier Selected to Receive the WTS-Boston 2020 Honorable Ray LaHood Award

Mark Pelletier is a Vice President of STV Incorporated and has managed STV’s Boston office since 2001.  He is a 1983 graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He is both a licensed Professional Structural Engineer and a Professional Civil Engineer in Massachusetts.  In his over 38-year career at STV, Mark has been the lead engineer, Project Manager, or Principal on some of the largest, most complex transportation projects, across all modes, in Massachusetts, including: the  MBTA North Station Commuter Rail Terminal, Garage and Green Line Relocation; the Green Line/ Orange Line Superstation;  the Silver Line Courthouse Station and Tunnel; the MassDOT Central Artery Tunnel Project D011A; the MBTA Greenbush Line Rehabilitation- Design Build; the MassDOT Fore River Bridge Replacement-Design Build; the MassDOT Longfellow Bridge Rehabilitation- Design Build; the MBTA Green Line Extension-Design Build; the Massport Equipment Storage and Maintenance Facility; the WRTA Bus Maintenance Facility; and the MBTA North Station Draw #1 Replacement Project.

Mark is a past President of the New England Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America, a past President of the Massachusetts Society of Professional Engineers-Metro Chapter, and a past Chairman of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers’ Construction Group.  He was named “Young Engineer of the Year” by the Massachusetts Society of Professional Engineers in 1996.  Mark is a member of The Moles, a prestigious fraternal organization of the heavy construction industry. Mark also volunteers his time in advisory roles with the University of Massachusetts College of Engineering and the Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM) program.  He is also on the Board of Governors and is a lifetime member of the UMass Club.  Mark is an active member of WTS, where he has served as a mentor for women in the transportation industry. Under his leadership, STV was named WTS-Boston’s “Employer of the Year” in 2013. 

Mark has run the last 10 Boston Marathons for the National MS Society and The McCourt Foundation.  Mark resides in Plymouth, MA, with his wife Nina, an attorney. They have two children, Michael and Elise.
