The June formal mentoring event was held July 2, 2021 and with speaker Kim Sousa, Owner and Business Development and Marketing Consultant at Make Your Marketing. Kim began the event with speaking practice for each participant. Everyone was asked to spend two minutes speaking about an object that is important to them. A mentor pointed out that even people who have been in the industry a long time need to spend time practicing speaking in a group, especially with the introduction of Zoom meetings. After each participant spoke, Kim offered a quick tip on their speaking style. Since this event was a joint event with the Formal Mentoring Program graduation, Kim guided participants in another round of public speaking geared toward a reflection on the program as a whole. Many spoke about the positive impact the program has had on them over the last few months. Sarah Davis and Stephanie O’hara wrapped up the event by congratulating the participants.
