Edna Stanley receives 2025 WTS-LA "Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership" Award
2025 WTS-LA Award Winner Spotlight: Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award Recipient Edna Stanley, Deputy Chief Operations Officer of Transit Delivery Service at Los Angeles Metro
As Deputy Chief Operations Officer of Transit Service Delivery at Los Angeles Metro, Edna oversees all daily Bus and Rail transportation service to include 4,900 operations personnel, six rail lines and 120 bus routes, BOC, ROC, bus and rail training, track allocation, vehicle burn-in and testing, start-up for capital projects, and special event coordination.
Edna works hard to increase inclusive, diverse representation in all facets of transportation, including high-quality transit service and workforce development. She devotes personal hours to mentoring, outreaching, and advocating through organizations such as WTS, APTA, and Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO).
Her participation in WTS includes speaking at WTS-LA lunch and Transportation YOU programs and serving as a mentor. For WTS International, she served on the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Member Engagement Committee. Currently, she is President of the SoCal Chapter of COMTO, where she advocates for minority professionals in the transportation industry, facilitates training and workshops for members, and raises monies for the scholarship fund. She is also a member of the League of Railway Women, California Transit Association Operations Committee, and APTA Bus and Rail Operations Committees.
