Cocktails and Conversation with WMATA GM/CEO Randy Clarke
By Katie Kraft, WTS-DC
On October 23, members and friends of WTS-DC gathered together at Parlour Victoria to chat with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Randy Clarke. Guests enjoyed remarks from Mr. Clarke, craft cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and a welcome opportunity to catch up with colleagues and friends.
Mr. Clarke joined WMATA as GM/CEO in July 2022. Now in its third year under Mr. Clarke’s leadership, WMATA has recovered ridership, opened rail service to Dulles, instituted measures to combat fare evasion, and gained thousands of followers on the agency’s X and TikTok accounts.

At the event, Mr. Clarke spoke about WMATA’s achievements. Ridership continues to climb, customer satisfaction is at its peak, and Mr. Clarke is poised to keep logging the “wins” for the system. Thanks to Mr. Clarke’s remarks and a diverse guest list, the evening offered the ideal combination of social interaction and professional connection.
