Alison Yoh, PhD, receives 2025 WTS-LA Woman of the Year Award

Metro Countywide Planning Executive Officer Dr. Allison Yoh is a visionary leader with more than two decades of service. She demonstrates every day her unwavering commitment to advancing equitable, sustainable, and community-centered transportation solutions in Los Angeles County. A true servant-leader, she uplifts communities through inclusive planning, empowers the next generation of transportation professionals through meaningful mentorship, and champions mobility solutions that meet the diverse needs of residents across Los Angeles County. 

From politics to planning to handling environmental clearance issues on a wide range of projects, Dr. Yoh’s hands-on leadership reveals the range of her deft abilities in focusing on everything from the technical to the strategic for a county as large and dynamic as ours. A first-generation Asian-American whose parents immigrated from Taiwan, Dr. Yoh brings a deeply personal understanding of the barriers that many women and minorities can face. And her experiences overcoming the challenges she faced informs her leadership and dedication to creating and fostering an equitable growth environment where young professionals feel valued and empowered, where communities feel heard and addressed, where colleagues feel inspired and empowered. And while doing all of that, she has managed to help transform transportation in Los Angeles County in a way that will be recognized throughout history. 

Dr. Allison Yoh has left an indelible mark that will be a testament to her success, integrity, leadership, governance, ingenuity, compassion, and humanity. She has delivered high-priority projects that have earned national recognition while expanding opportunities for underrepresented professionals, particularly women in transportation. She has proved that inclusive teams produce profound results, while rewriting expectations for what women can and will achieve in transportation.
