Presented by: Lisa B. Strader, City of Portland, ADA Coordinator | Ramps by Request Program Manager
Lisa Strader, PBOT’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator, regularly
connects with community members with disabilities about transportation
infrastructure. While ADA design guidance exists for sidewalks, pedestrian
signals, transit stops, and of course, curb ramps, among other elements, people
with disabilities share stories and photos of infrastructure that may be compliant,
but doesn’t work well for the people who need it the most. Join us as Lisa shares
examples as well as suggestions for how to design both compliant and
user-focused infrastructure.
