WTS

Join Matt Farmen of Sloan Consulting for a dynamic exploration of ADA history, legal requirements, liability considerations and practical design solutions. Lee Barger of the City of Glenwood Springs will share real-world lessons on how transportation and streetscape design directly impact community members with disabilities.

Then step out of the classroom and into the field. Using wheelchairs and vision-impairment simulation glasses, participants will navigate sidewalks, crossings, and intersections to experience accessibility challenges and successes firsthand. See your community through a different lens and gain a deeper understanding of how design decisions affect mobility, safety, and independence.

The workshop concludes with a facilitated discussion to reflect on field experiences and identify actionable ways to create more inclusive and accessible communities.
