WTS

Celebrate Bike Week with WTS-DC at our annual Spring Bike Tour!

Our route will take us through new bike infrastructure in Northwest/Northeast DC communities, including new protected bike lanes, standard bike lanes, dedicated bus lanes, low-volume neighborhood streets, and a popular shared-use trail. Explore the planned route by visiting:

The route this year has a few hills, but don’t worry – we will offer encouragement to everyone, and we won’t leave anyone behind! The ride organizers will have water to share, and we will take time to stop for refreshment along the way. The route distance is approximately 9 miles.

Location:
The start/end location is the Basilica West Parking Lot at 3837 Harewood Rd NE, Washington, DC 20017.

Participants taking Metro to/from the ride should travel to the Brookland station and walk or ride their bikes to the Basilica west parking lot to meet the group.

Rules:

  • All participants MUST BRING AND WEAR A BIKE HELMET!
  • Bring water and snacks. Some additional water will be provided, and we will have an opportunity to stop to purchase food and beverages; however, you are advised to Be Prepared.
  • Bring a spare tube if you can. Tour organizers will have basic tools and a small pump available for some emergencies.
  • Since some segments of the route are on low-speed neighborhood streets (i.e., not in bike lanes), please consider wearing bright-colored clothing to be more visible as we ride.
