We’re excited to be supporting an upcoming STEM Gems event at Boise State University on June 13, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 PM, and we’re looking for volunteers to help make it a success!

This hands-on activity introduces students to transportation and infrastructure concepts through a fun and creative engineering challenge. Current 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will work in teams to design and build a track that keeps a marble rolling longer than any other team’s—encouraging problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation along the way.

Volunteer roles include:

  • Helping facilitate the activity and guide student teams
  • Encouraging creativity and teamwork
  • Assisting with setup and event wrap-up

No technical background is required—just an interest in supporting and inspiring the next generation of engineering professionals.

If you’re available and would like to participate, we’d love to have you join us! If you are not available, you can still contribute by donating empty cereal boxes, paper towels, and/or toilet paper rolls.

Please reach out to Alana Flaherty ([email protected]) or Bailey Hereford ([email protected]) to sign up, donate supplies, or learn more.
