Originally envisioned as a simple upgrade to existing fareboxes, the STA Fare Collection System Update project has proven to be one of the most important intelligent transportation projects in the region over the past decade. With smart “Connect” cards and virtual “e-Connect” cards readily available to anyone through Android and iOS app stores, the system update, known as “Connect,” is already contributing to easier commutes and a more equitable community.
