Join us March 25th, WTS Greater Chicago will host a Policy Chat about the recently enacted Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA) Act.
In December 2025, Governor Pritzker signed the NITA Act which introduces new transit reforms and funding solutions, including the creation of a new regional transit agency and $1.5 billion in investments to address the transit "fiscal cliff." Elizabeth Scott, Principal Policy Analyst at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, will provide an informational overview of the background and contents of the legislation.
Policy Chats are a series hosted by the Policy & Legislative Affairs Committee, where WTS members can learn more about transportation policy topics, share insights from their sectors, and build stronger relationships with other members. Similar to a book club, this series spotlights short-form content – articles, podcasts, and more – for attendees to discuss in a group setting.
