The Policy and Legislative Affairs Committee is pleased to launch the second installment of the WTS Policy Chats series on October 28th at 1:00 PM! This initiative provides WTS members with the opportunity to learn more about transportation policy topics, share insights from their sectors, and build stronger relationships with other members. Similar to a book club, this series spotlights short-form content – articles, podcasts, and more – for attendees to discuss in a group setting.
For the October Policy Chat, we will learn about the “Safe System Approach” to traffic safety – with a focus on managing roadway speeds. Before the group discussion, attendees are invited to read the executive summary of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s (CMAP) speed management report. Vickie Barrett, Safe Systems Program Lead at CMAP, will join the discussion to provide further insights.
