This year JBC Associates, Inc. (JBC) celebrates its 35th anniversary in business. When Janet B. Cunningham started the firm in 1988, she provided her construction consulting expertise gained from a background in scheduling and dispute resolution services. It was her goal to apply what she learned, from analyzing what went wrong and why on construction projects, to proactively improve the successful execution of projects and avoid costly post-construction litigation. With this goal in mind, JBC initially focused on providing scheduling services to owners and contractors.

When an opportunity arose in 1992 to provide construction inspection services, JBC entered the world of transportation construction services hiring its first inspector to work on a PennDOT Construction Inspection agreement. Today, JBC has grown to over 70 employees and is a leader in the Transportation Construction Management and Construction Inspection arena in Pennsylvania. JBC projects include not only the transportation industry (highways, bridges, transit, airports and ports) but also government, education, recreation, health care and institutional projects ranging from under $1 million to over $500 million in construction. Annually, JBC is involved with projects totaling an estimated $1.5 billion in construction.
