Sowinski Sullivan was honored to join SEPTA and our project partners in celebrating the recent ribbon cutting of the new Wissahickon Transit Center, a significant investment in Philadelphia’s transit network.

Serving approximately 7,000 daily riders across 11 bus routes, the facility enhances operational efficiency while improving the passenger experience. The reconfigured bus loop includes seven sawtooth berths and eight dedicated recovery/layover spaces arranged around a covered central island featuring a green roof.  A second island along Ridge Avenue incorporates a public facility and a dedicated passenger waiting area, advancing passenger comfort, accessibility, and safety.

As designer and Architect of Record, Sowinski Sullivan collaborated closely with SEPTA and the McCormick Taylor-led team which included WSP and Arora to deliver a modern, resilient transit hub that supports the daily mobility needs of thousands of riders. We are proud to contribute to infrastructure that strengthens regional connectivity and advances the mission of public transportation in our community.
