Sponsor Spotlight: Huitt-Zollars
Huitt-Zollars proudly highlights the recent addition of Danielle Schroeder, PE, ENV SP, who joined the firm this past April. Danielle is a Senior Engineer and Licensed Professional Engineer in the Philadelphia office who has experience in several disciplines within the Transportation Industry. She currently serves as WTS Philadelphia Director of Chapter Relations, where she leads the annual sponsorship program.
This October, Danielle received the Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Award for Professional Achievement. This award honors up to five ASCE members from across the society annually who are 35 years old or younger and have demonstrated significant professional achievement in civil engineering. Recipients are recognized for their technical competence, leadership in engaging and mentoring younger members, character and integrity, service to the profession, and contributions to public welfare beyond their careers.
This award was presented to Danielle for her dedication to civil engineering through her work experience and ASCE at the local, regional, and society level. In addition, this award recognizes Danielle’s tireless STEM outreach efforts and her passion for empowering girls globally while promoting engineering as a rewarding and impactful career path for women.
During her time at Huitt-Zollars, Danielle has contributed to a variety of projects throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Notably, she serves as the Assistant Project Manager for the PennDOT Transit PMO project. Acting as an extension of the Bureau of Public Transit (BPT) staff, Huitt-Zollars oversees an $800 million construction program encompassing everything from planning and scoping to compliance navigation and technical quality reviews to dashboards and metrics.
Huitt-Zollars extends our congratulations to the rest of the ASCE society-level winners who received their award at the ASCE 2025 Convention.
