Aligning with the WTS Vision
The WTS International Diversity and Inclusion Initiative is in support of its vision for equity and access for women in transportation. Diversity and inclusion has always been at the core of WTS, the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative aims to form strategic goals and actionable solutions to attain equity and access. The Initiative is led by the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the International Board.
Diversity & Inclusion Committee
In 2017, the WTS Diversity & Inclusion Committee Charter was adopted and displayed at the 2018 WTS Annual Conference for signature by all attendees as a reminder of the purpose and commitment of the organization.
The Diversity & Inclusion Committee Charter:
The purpose of the WTS Diversity Committee is to define the diversity and inclusion strategic objectives for the WTS organization and its chapters. WTS defines diversity as the inclusion of differences and similarities from all categories of membership including ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, geography and profession.
The committee consists of representatives from the WTS International Board of Directors, WTS Foundation Board of Directors, Chapter leadership, and members.
Transparency on Progress
WTS International is committed to transparency as our organization takes steps to expanding opportunities for training ourselves and our industry as well as investigating additional ways to be a part of the solution. Please check back to this page for updates.
WTS Statement Condemning Racial Injustice Against Black Communities
On June 3, 2020, WTS International released a statement condemning racial injustice against Black communities after the killings of George Floyd and too many other Black people who have lost their lives as a result of senseless violence, as well as national protests demanding justice.

As an organization devoted to the professional development of women, we challenge ourselves to expand opportunities for training of both conscious and unconscious bias in our leadership courses, with Board and Chapter leaders, and amongst WTS staff to ensure we are building a welcoming, inclusive, diverse and dynamic space for all people.
WTS Message on Why Pride Looks Different This Year
As WTS International celebrates Pride and the diversity of our 8,500 members, we find it especially important to recognize the intersectionality of LGBTQ+: race, gender, and sexuality.
