WTS

Join WTS-NH on Wednesday, January 24 at 12:00 pm ET as we kick off 2024 with an informational Lunch n' Learn presented by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation's Bureau Right of Way team!

Acquiring property rights is often necessary to construct and improve the State’s public highways and bridges.  Handling these acquisitions is the principal function of New Hampshire DOT’s  Bureau of Right of Way. For this Lunch n' Learn: Demystifying the ROW Process, Laura Davies, Danielle Hotz, Dena Rae, and Lisa Weir from the NHDOT Bureau of Right of Way will discuss the various aspects of the Right of Way process and the factors that shape it.  A completed project will be used to illustrate the process and its challenges.

This virtual event will describe the process that the Bureau of Right of Way follows within the project development process to acquire the needed property rights for a project, from plan development, noticing owners, and the public hearing to appraisal and acquisitions.  Once the property is under Department ownership, our Bureau maintains it before and after completing the project.  Our Bureau also handles the disposal of property determined to be surplus to the Department’s needs at its fair market value.

1 PDH credit hour is available for attendees. For a link to the upcoming Lunch n' Learn, please contact Delia Makhetha, [email protected]
