Join WTS-DC and COMTO-DC for a bike tour through Prince George’s County, Maryland, highlighting local transportation, infrastructure, and community connections. This engaging ride will showcase the County’s efforts to advance mobility, safety, and multimodal access, while creating opportunities to learn from leaders shaping the region’s transportation landscape.

We are excited to be joined by:

Meg Young (Deputy Director of Active Transportation and Micromobility, Office of Environment and Sustainable Transportation, MDOT), who leads statewide initiatives to expand active transportation and transit access;

Erv Beckett (Chief, Highway & Bridge Design Division, Prince George’s County DPW&T), who oversees the County’s roadway and multimodal transportation planning and operations;

Rene Lord-Attivor (Chief Engineer, Prince George’s County DPIE), who ensures development projects align with safety, accessibility, and infrastructure requirements;

Bob Patton (Trail Development Program Manager, Prince George’s County Parks), who advances the County’s trail and park system to connect residents and visitors to safe, sustainable recreation and travel options.

This is a unique opportunity to experience firsthand how Prince George’s County is planning, designing, and delivering infrastructure that connects communities while engaging directly with the professionals driving this important work.

The anticipated length of the route will be about 12 miles, and the pace will be suitable for beginner-level cyclists. This will be a “no-drop” ride so you do not need to worry about not keeping up or being left behind!

All registered attendees will be required to bring their own bike and sign a liability waiver the morning of the event before the ride begins. Please arrive at West Hyattsville Metro Station at 11:00 AM. A WTS-DC member on the planning committee will meet you. Helmet use will be mandatory for this ride. Please remember to bring sun protection and water. To make the ride fun, manageable, and SAFE, this event will be capped at 40 participants, excluding our special guests and ride leaders. If registration for the event exceeds 20 people, we will split into two ride groups during the tour. This event will be held rain or shine, with a shortened ride distance if there is significant rain.

If you have any event questions, please contact Jeff Parker (WTS-DC & COMTO) and Nadiya Kutishcheva (WTS-DC). If you have any registration questions, please contact Regis Stinson (WTS-DC).

A map of the tentative bike tour route is available below. The start/end of the route is at the West Hyattsville Metro Station.
