During this interactive presentation, Caitlin will discuss the central role transportation has played in civil rights efforts throughout United States history. She will connect historical lessons to key legislation such as Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and share practical tips for including more voices in transportation decision-making. Participants will be invited to actively engage and contribute to the discussion.
This program is designed to educate transportation professionals—including public involvement teams, planners, and transportation engineers—on the history and impacts of inequitable transportation practices in the U.S.
