In 2026, the WTS Greater Chicago Chapter is proud to introduce a new scholarship: The WTS Greater Chicago Storytelling Scholarship.
The purpose of this new fund is to foster creative communication within our profession by supporting members in the development of their storytelling skills — an increasingly vital tool for promoting the vision and value of a robust, interconnected, and resilient transportation system. Recipients will use this scholarship to cover the cost of a course or program that elevates their skillset and enriches their storytelling prowess such as creative writing, poetry, improv, or communication class/workshop offered by a reputable institution or expert.
To celebrate the launch of this new scholarship, WTS invites you to an inspiring fireside chat on Thursday April 9th. Join agency leaders Sis Killen (CCDoTH), Cassaundra Rouse (Illinois Tollway), Janice R. Thomas (Metra), and Erin Aleman (CMAP) as they share the power of storytelling and how it has shaped their own careers.
